Do you find yourself with 17 Google tabs open, trying to figure out how to “run your business” – only to spiral into self-doubt and close your laptop?
For me, everything starts with one question:
What do you need most right now?
Because if we skip over what’s real today, any plan for tomorrow will miss the mark.
Why?
Because if you’re like most of the moms I work with, you’ve spent years doing “mom math” – budgeting the groceries, scheduling the carpool, managing the household, and trying to figure out how to contribute financially while carrying the mental load.
I created Christy Russell Consulting because I needed a way to make money that didn’t make me choose between being the primary caregiver to my autistic son and keeping our groceries in the fridge. I wanted flexibility, not hustle. A business that supported my life – not one that demanded 9-5 hours.
Now I help other overwhelmed moms create that too.
Sometimes we step out of our comfort zone because it’s the only way forward – for our families and ourselves.
Maybe you never thought you’d run a business. But here you are…
My role is to help you take steps that support your life and help pay the bills – without adding to the overwhelm.
If you write lists to help ease the anxiety, and then get overwhelmed trying to figure out where to start…
You know what you want to do, but need a business bestie to help sort it all out, act as a sounding board – and read it back to you in a way that feels doable, will pay the bills, and lights a fire in you.
You’re not choosing between your kids, your family, and your income…
You’re betting on yourself – because the corporate world wasn’t built for moms.
You’ve got the experience, the skills, and the guts. I’m here to help you build something sustainable that honors your values and your bottom line.
I was the Director of Operations in state government – managing federal funds, writing strategic plans, running teams, and trying to manage the never ending to-do list.
At the same time, I was raising three teens – my youngest is autistic. It meant coordinating therapies, advocating in schools, and then the pandemic hit.
Pandemic school turned into homeschool for real, and burnout from trying to do it all not only affected my mental health – it started to affect my physical health.
The realization hit hard and fast – this isn’t sustainable.
I needed work that honored my whole life – while still earning enough to pay the bills.
Now? I help other moms do the same – earn the income you need and give you ownership of your time.
Here’s the thing – there are no rules to running your business.
(Okay, except for the legal parts… like paying taxes.)
But the gurus and bro-boys will have you believing that their “exact strategy” will earn you six figures in six months.
And maybe you’re here now because you’re done doing it their way.
You don’t need to hustle harder or force your life into someone else’s framework.
You need support that meets you where you are – chaotic calendar, sticky note lists, and all.
That’s what this space is for. So your business will pay the bills, honor your capacity, and leave room for the rest of your life.
No shame. No hustle pressure. No pushing the kid who’s asking for a snack away – Just meeting you where you are.
Just honest conversation, bite-sized actions, and doable progress that actually feels good.
I’m ready to do it differently…
When my youngest son received his autism diagnosis, I founded a nonprofit that enhances the quality of life for children with special healthcare needs and their families across the lifespan. I wanted to make sure that families like mine have access to the resources and services they need within the region they live. I am so proud that nonprofit is still serving local families today.
Besides my 3 amazing sons and picking a pretty awesome husband to do life with – I am really proud of my willingness to face fears. From jumping out of a plane, to moving away from friends and family, from leaving a really stable job to starting a brand-new business from scratch… I like to face fear and change with a brave face, an open mind, and an adventurous heart.
In the winter, my favorite place to be is in front of the fireplace with cup of coffee, snuggled under a fluffy blanket, and reading a book. In the summer, I am most often found by the pool with a book in my hand. In between, you can find me volunteering for my favorite nonprofit, taking a walk in the woods, or baking snacks for my three teenage boys with insatiable appetites.
