I’ve been quiet here for a while, but I promise I’ve been quiet here for a while, but I promise it’s for a good reason…

I’ve been building something new, and while my consultant work is still happening in the background, this new project stole my heart - and a LOT of my time 😂

Are you raising a neurodivergent child? Do you find yourself struggling to get the information you need to support your child, when and how you need it?

After 10 years as a healthcare and disability advocate, it continues to astound me how little information makes it into the hands of parents and caregivers raising neurodivergent kids.

So many organizations are doing amazing work to support neurodivergent people and their families and yet, it isn’t reaching them.

I want to disrupt that.

What if organizations could connect with parents when parents need them most (usually not during normal office hours)?

What if organizations’ information and resources (that parents need and want but don’t know how to find) can be accessed in a way parents understand - all from the palm of their hand?

This is the solution I’m creating.

It’s ambitious, and it’s necessary.

There is a treasure trove of information on the web - but when you need an answer now, hours of searching the internet isn’t helpful - especially when keywords aren’t always intuitive to families.

Systems are siloed and hard to navigate, which is confusing for parents and caregivers who need to help coordinating services and supports.

The Experiential Life App brings together parents and caregivers raising neurodivergent kids through:

 👉 community,
⚡️ webinars,
🤝 parent support, and
👏 downloadable resources, all contained in a convenient app on your favorite device.

The Experiential Life App is under development. I am actively recruiting alpha and beta testers. If you are a parent or caregiver raising neurodivergent kids, I would love you to be one of the first in this community!

Interested in hearing more about what I’m building? I’d love to connect!

I am taking a huge u-turn in my business and caree I am taking a huge u-turn in my business and career.

Sometimes we have to travel down a path for a bit to get clarity on our destination.

For me, the path became clear when I started to look at who was asking me questions, why, and what I can do to make their problem dissolve.

It wasn’t what I envisioned when I started Christy Russell Consulting.

I *thought* I needed to break away from healthcare and disability advocacy… turns out, that’s exactly what people need the most from me.

So, as I make a full circle back to where I started, I wanted to remind you that’s it’s ok to shake up your business. It’s ok to take a few steps back and reinvent old ideas.

More to come soon on the big u-turn, but in the meantime, my content here will shift a bit… stay tuned for thoughts and information about what we can do to better support parents and caregivers of neurodivergent kids 💕

We need more spaces that foster connection, create We need more spaces that foster connection, create positive relationships, serve to uplift and support, and even tell it like it is, when we need to hear it most.

A year ago @holistically_her offered her space to help me bring a vision to life. A space to network and connect with meaning.

I am so thankful for each and every one of the women that show up and share their talents, knowledge, and the vision that networking doesn’t have to be cringey.

We can foster relationships in our community that improve our business, our well-being, and our independent and collective vision for the future.

This is where I work… it isn’t pretty, it can This is where I work… it isn’t pretty, it can be super distracting, and sometimes I can’t help but compare my “home office” to all the aesthetically pleasing offices posted around here.

Tomorrow we break ground on our big home addition. My father-in-law will finally have his own space, complete with mini kitchen and office. And I will finally have a space for work, homeschool, and reading all the books.

As excited as I am for the new space, I am super grateful to this slice of kitchen that allows me to earn money for my family.

It doesn’t need to be pretty to get started living the life you want. You just need to take the first step - even if it’s from a laptop in the corner of your kitchen.
It seems super obvious now, and all you social med It seems super obvious now, and all you social media gurus probably do this…

Last night I was reflecting on the week - what I did (and didn’t do). I spent a ton of time outside, did some really fun homeschool adventures with my son, and spent a lot of time answering questions for clients.

That last part was the aha moment. If my clients are asking these questions, maybe more people don’t know, or don’t know where to find, the answers.

Admittedly posting is not my strong suit. But maybe I do have more to say that can be useful 🤷‍♀️

So obvious… I’m pretty sure all the social media coaches say this is what you should do - but framing it as “find their problem and talk about it” doesn’t feel easy when framed that way.

Just me?

I didn’t get it. People come to me with all sorts of questions about all sorts of things, and it never feels like it’s thematic, it feels pretty specific to their project or our contract.

Maybe that’s where I can offer something of value to people in my network. Because my network is full of unrelated people doing unrelated work - but all working so dang hard to make their part of the world a bit better.

So, I’m going to dedicate a few days a week to answering some of my client questions here.

Am I doing this right? 😂🫣
